A hallmark of Waldorf education at Sasana is the Main Lesson — a daily 1.5-hour learning block from Class 1 to Year 12. For three weeks at a time, students immerse in one theme — mathematics, literature, science, history, or the arts — exploring it through story, art, music, drama, hands-on
work, and academic study.
Instead of skimming many topics, students go deeper, making personal connections and building lasting understanding. They create their own beautifully illustrated Main Lesson books, capturing knowledge and creativity as treasured records of their journey.
This approach develops focus, patience, independent thinking, and the joy of true learning.
Education is an art – it must speak to the child’s experience. To educate the whole child, the heart and the will must be reached, as well as the mind.
