In Waldorf schools, the performing arts — including drama, speech, music, and movement — are not just for the stage. They are woven into the learning experience because they help students grow in confidence, creativity, and connection with others. Whether acting in a class play, playing an instrument, or reciting a poem, students develop important life skills while enjoying the creative process and learning to collaborate.
At Sasana, performing arts are a valued part of school life from early childhood through high school. Children begin with simple group singing, and as they grow, they are introduced to more complex musical pieces and instruments. In Class Three, students are invited to begin learning a classical string instrument, building musical awareness and focus. While participation varies based on each student’s readiness and interest, all are given the opportunity to explore and express
themselves through movement, music, and performance throughout their years at Sasana.
