Waldorf education strengthens the child to meet not only the challenges of school but also of life.

The goal of Waldorf education is to expose children to a wide range of experiences and to develop within them many interests and capabilities.

This, in turn, leads to well-balanced young people with high levels of confidence in their ability to apply skills developed in one area to another and the knowledge that they can master anything.

OPEN

DAY

Join us on our open day:

  • What our classrooms look like and how they nurture your child’s learning;
  • A “day in the life” of our students;
  • A chance to meet current teachers and hear why they love Sasana;
  • Our nurturing, child-centered community focuses on mutual respect, individuality and independence;
  • How our teacher build meaningful learning-focused relationships with your children;
  • Our focus is on your children, their inner drive, and their uniqueness

We request that you do not bring children under the age of 7 with you. We have found from experience that it is easier for you, and us, to concentrate on gaining and giving a proper impression of the school if you are not accompanied by young children.

why

Waldorf

Waldorf graduates typically do well in higher learning and vocations. Universities note that Waldorf graduates have a well-developed capacity for thinking through integrating information as opposed to memorizing isolated facts. They are also known to be adaptable, creative and willing to take intellectual risks in learning.

FAQ

At the heart of the school is an innovative education, a constantly renewing, 100-year-old, humanistic approach to learning that is taught at more than 1,100 schools worldwide.

Our teachers share the vision that education is transformative. Collectively we strive to help students become free, resilient, creative human beings who lead lives of purpose and direction.

Students have opportunities to reflect on, and discuss their learning in the classroom. Waldorf education is learning through life. We encourage you to explore.

Sasana International School is a pioneering initiative in Waldorf Education in Malaysia. Sasana International School was founded in 2020 with the aim of establishing the first international Waldorf school and early childhood centre, here in Malaysia.

Our School’s beginnings can be traced back to Kelip Kelip Kindergarten in Kota Kemuning, which opened its doors in 2009. The successful establishment of Sasana International School on its current campus in Bandar Tasik Puteri was made possible by the collaboration of founding teachers and parents and their community’s vision to transition to a bigger campus which could support the development of a larger early childhood centre and a full year 1-12 Waldorf school programme.

Today our school and associated early childhood centre offer seamless Waldorf education from Kindergarten to Year 12.

We are currently working on a new purpose-built campus on 5 acres of land , which is also located in Bandar Tasik Puteri, and which we hope to open in 2026.

At the heart of our learning programme is Main Lesson which is cross-curricular and takes up 2 periods per day. All classes do Main Lesson.

In Primary School we have language lessons in English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin, Mathematics, PE, Art, Craft, Music, Eurythmy, Drama and Outdoor Classroom. In High School students have a range of elective subjects to choose from, and a mix of assigned work and project based learning.

From Class 3 up, all students go on camp.  We have an extra-curricular programme which runs after school 4 days a week. This currently includes basketball, volleyball, chess club, lion dance, chinese club, erhu, st John’s cadets, among others. We also celebrate a range of seasonal festivals.

what parents say

About us

I’m Carol and Anthony is my husband. We are parents of three beautiful young children. We migrated from Brunei to Selangor a year ago because of Sasana International School.

We heard from a friend in Brunei about this school and their teaching method that nourish children’s soul.

My three children shared the same thing after the first day in school and even after a year. They said they felt so much loves from friends and teachers. They love going to school and they are happy.

Not only the kids are happy, us as parents are growing with them too. I slowly released lots of my childhood burden from the waldorf community. I learn to respect every child’s individual growth and their free spirit. Only through freedom, the kids learn bout discipline and their role in this world.

It has been a year we moved to Selangor and we have better spiritual, mental,emotional and physical growth.

We really hope more families will know about waldorf and of course about our school.

Our journey with Waldorf started 5 years ago when we were looking for a school for our daughter. One by one our kids joined in too.

Total 5 of them. Waldorf education addresses the child as no other education does. That’s how much we love about the education, school, teachers and community. We truly consider our family blessed to have come across this gem of a school.
